Meet your therapist

Raelyn Legg, LMHC

Thank you for taking a look at me as a therapist. I have 15 years of experience as a therapist and have specialties in family systems, structural therapy, feminist therapy, internal family systems, CBT, emotionally focused therapy, attachment-based interventions, and psychoeducation-focused therapy. I try to match your situation with the right specialty that I have so that you get the most out of the experience of working with me. I've seen thousands of clients over the years which has given me a large pool of knowledge to draw on to see what I can do to help you with your situation. I'm consistent at helping people achieve results and that's my goal.

Though I have many specialties helping people with trauma, sexual issues, and anxiety, perhaps one specialty that stands out is in mental health treatment for individuals with infertility, fetal loss, and mood disorders with Peripartum onset. This is a misunderstood and underserved area of mental health, and I'm happy to share my knowledge about it with you. In addition, I'm also highly competent in increasing positive body image, processing trauma, navigating issues facing LGBT2AI+ community, and Gender Affirming Care.

One of the benefits of having a therapist that's been doing this for a while is that I try to make the process feel lighter and more natural. I have a sense of humor which can help make some of the serious things we talk about seem more approachable and less intimidating. Feel free to be yourself whether that's serious, sarcastic, or anything else!

We want to try to build an insight into the motivations we have underneath the surface and uncover some of the intergenerational or systemic traumas that might be there. We'll work through undoing some of these patterns by learning about how emotions work. We'll try to shift those emotions, and the relationships they bind us with, to be in alignment with our values. Sometimes it takes some investigating to figure out what our values can be and I've got a process for that too! The goal is to aim for long-lasting changes rather than patching things up. Therapy is a commitment when we're in deeper waters like this. I want you to know that I'm committed to going out there together with you if you're willing to meet me there. Making that happen successfully is going to look like our worldview changing into something positive and hopeful rather than a temporary break from the usual. We're aiming for progress that's going to stick that you can be proud of!

How does it work?

  • Evaluation

We meet for an hour to discuss what’s bringing you in and how I can help. We’ll outline a plan of action and schedule around implementing it. There is a free consultation before this if you’re unsure if this is the right fit for you.

  • Therapy

After the evaluation, we’ll decide how frequently to meet and work through a treatment plan that we make together to address the goals you have for treatment.

  • Maintenance

After achieving your goals with therapy, sessions may end or they can enter a maintenance form for touching base and more subtle course corrections if desired (usually conducted much less frequently).

  • Location

Currently, all of our appointments are being offered remotely via video calls.

  • Out of Pocket Cost

The upfront cost of 60-minute sessions is $150 if not covered by insurance. Payment is due at the time of service and receipts are provided for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.
